On September 21, 2025, the EDSA Shrine once again became a gathering point for Filipinos demanding accountability. From its steps, waves of protesters began their march toward the People Power Monument, retracing the footsteps of history. The Trillion Peso March, timed to coincide with the 53rd anniversary of Martial Law.
The Call for Accountability
The demands were clear:
- Transparency in government spending.
- An independent commission to investigate infrastructure projects.
- Prosecution of officials and contractors implicated in corruption.
