The Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu represents a significant religious landmark located in Cebu City, Philippines. This church stands as the oldest religious structure in the Philippines which was established during 1565 by Spanish missionaries Fray Andrés de Urdaneta and Fray Diego de Herrera. The church stands on the location where Spanish expedition members discovered the Santo Niño de Cebu image which Ferdinand Magellan donated to Queen Juana, Rajah Humabon's wife, in 1521. Sinulog Festival, which takes place every third Sunday of January to honor the Santo Niño, turns the basilica into a leading pilgrimage destination. The church continues to function as a religious institution while standing as a central symbol of Cebu’s strong Catholic traditions.
